Some couples choose
surgical sterilization like a definitive contraceptive method.
However, if for any reason they decide to have children again, it is
possible to practice a surgical reversal of this surgery in both males
and females.
Tubal ligature

In the female case the operation consists of a small abdominal
incision, through which the fallopian tubes are anastomosed with the
help of an operating microscope. The result of this procedure could be
very successful (80% of women under 35 years old) and this depends on
two factors: the type of sterilization surgery that was performed and
the state of the pelvis at the moment of anastomosis. When it is
impossible to revert the sterilization surgery, the only option will
be IVF.
Recanalization
In the male case, it is also possible to revert the vasectomy. A
small incision is made at the scrotum (skin covering the testicle),
through which the vas deferens is exposed and an anastomosis is made
with microscope assistance. Results are directly proportional to the
time that has elapsed since the sterilization surgery. The less time
elapsed the better results obtained.
